Biography

Alan de Brauw is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade and Institutions Division of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He has a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California at Davis, and prior to joining IFPRI he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Williams College. His research agenda has focused on understanding impacts of agricultural interventions and social protection, including those working to improve nutritional status among beneficiaries and the effects of migration on source households. His research is published widely in development economics, agricultural economics, and nutrition journals including the Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, the British Journal of Nutrition, and the Journal of Nutrition.
