Marc Nolting
Biography
Marc Nolting joined GIZ in 2001. He is currently Head of Unit – Global Agenda for Food and Nutrition Security – at GIZ in Bonn. He oversees a portfolio of different sectoral and global programmes with a focus on food and nutrition security, fisheries/aquaculture, agricultural research and digital innovations. Prior to this he was based in Addis Ababa, where he coordinated collaboration with the African Union on land governance, water and sanitation. He has held several senior positions at GIZ head offices and in the field, including Senior Policy Adviser EU liaison at the GIZ representation in Brussels. From 2005-2008 he worked at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome where he coordinated the development of rehabilitation and reconstruction programmes for the tsunami affected areas in South-Asia. He holds a PhD in marine biology from the University of Kiel (Germany).
