Biography

Naila Kabeer is Joint Professor of Gender and International Development at the Departments of International Development and Gender Studies at the London School of Economics. She is also Emeritus Fellow, Institute of Development Studies, Sussex and has an honorary doctorate from the University of Sussex. She has had extensive experience in teaching, training and advisory work in the field of gender, poverty, livelihoods and citizenship. She has worked with a range of non-governmental organizations, including BRAC (Bangladesh), PRADAN (India), OXFAM (UK), bilateral agencies, including DFID (UK), SIDA (Sweden) and NORAD (Norway) as well as multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, UN-Women and the ILO.
